Match Report :
This was an excellent performance after we had been set to chase a demanding total at Rhos-on-Sea last Sunday. After disposing of Zac Gidlow and Sion Morris fairly cheaply, Bootle were hit by an super innings from Gareth Cross who hit 7 sixes and 8 fours in his 116, putting on 94 for the 3rd wicket in company with Carwyn Williams (52). When David Snellgrove finally bowled him at 197 in the 39th over, the innings went into steep decline and Colwyn Bay were all out for 225 - which might have been even higher.
Bootle were left with an asking rate of 5.02 runs per over to win and Snellgrove and Prince got us off to a great start with 128 for the opening stand before the latter departed for 39. There was a slight hiccup when Cross bowled Neil Williams for 4 and Ryan Holtby did likewise to David, whose 83 included 12 boundaries, two of them sixes. Jack Boardman came in to make an attacking 42 from thirty balls, putting on 65 with Michael Gill which took us to within 17 of victory with 27 deliveries remaining. Michael and Josh Hine did the necessary and Bootle won with two overs in hand. A semi-final with Wallasey at The Oval awaits.

Match Report :
A comfortable win over the bottom side in the Premier League. Having been asked to bat first, our top order did a really good job to put us in a commanding position and set up a positive declaration. David Snellgrove and Craig Prince had 70 on the board by the 19th over and there followed two further healthy stands involving Snellgrove and Michael Gill, who added 54 together for the 2nd wicket, then Gill and Neil Williams, who put on 61 for the 3rd. Michael just missed out on a half-century but Neil was 51 not out when the skipper ignored the final batting bonus point to declare on 204-3.
Prestatyn were soon in trouble as Josh Hine took a wicket in three consecutive overs to leave them reeling at 31-4, though Marripuri Suresh and Ben Williams steadied the ship with a partnership worth 54 for the 5th wicket. After Chris Cunningham trapped Williams lbw for 25, Suresh began to manipulate the strike to protect the tail end batsmen but paid the price when he got an edge trying to run a Hine delivery down to third man and was caught behind. That effectively was the end and the visitors were out for 121 in the 43rd over to lose by 83 runs.

Match Report :
The Seconds kept up their pursuit of the league leaders Liverpool (who have played 3 games more than Bootle) with a sound victory at The Oval. Having been inserted, Bootle made a dreadful start when Andy Johnson and Jonathan Hine were out without scoring. Andy Ehlen and Adam Burton quickly righted things with a stand of 88 but our innings was a curious one as there were no fewer than six ducks. The captain, however, was at his belligerent best hitting 15 fours and a six before being lbw to Ben Parker for 82. Andrew Gill matched the knock of 31 by Adam and Billy Smith made 11 not out at the death as Bootle expired for 176.
Lee Gallagher and Andrew Gill opened the bowling and quickly had the home side in all manner of trouble as they slumped to a disastrous 47-9 in the 21st over of their reply. The match looked, to all intents and purposes, to be over but the final Wallasey pair, Andy Ward and Mykal Graham, dug in resolutely to add 56 for the 10th wicket before Billy Smith had Graham caught by Jonathan Hine for 32 and Bootle prevailed in the fifth over of the last twenty.

Match Report :
The Thirds will sadly not be contesting the Embee Trophy final on August 15th after losing their semi with Newton-le-Willows. Bootle were inserted on losing the toss and with half the side out for 67 after 21 overs we were in a difficult situation. Acting captain, Tony Molloy, then weighed in with an aggressive 66 at better than a run a ball and at the end of our allocation the total had gone up to 164-9, which at least gave the bowlers something to defend.
A good start they made too as the home top five were sent back for 52 with 14 overs bowled. That, unfortunately, was as far as we got because John Humphreys and Martin Murnan shared in an unbroken 6th wicket stand of 115 which won the game in the 38th over, Humphreys hitting twelve boundaries in his 77 not out.

Northern 3
193-6 dec. (45 overs) G Davis 94, P. Jones 42 : Shaun Hornby 3-20
Firwood Bootle
155 -8 (38 overs) Shaz Safdar 37, David Britt 36 : S Negus 3-23
Result : Match Drawn
Points : Northern 8 Bootle 6
Match Report :
Northern elected to bat first and with 75-3 on the board after 27 overs it was quite an even contest. Gareth Davis and Phil Jones then got after the Bootle bowlers to raise 96 for the 4th wicket, Davis making 94 and his partner 42. This allowed a declaration at a healthy 193-7 after exactly 45 overs, leaving us 38 in return.
Bootle progressed steadily with Shaz Safdar and David Britt sharing in a partnership of 63 for the 3rd wicket, and when the last twenty were called we required 109 to win with 8 wickets intact. At 140-6 Bootle were still in with a shout but when three wickets were lost for only 3 runs it was time for the shutters to go up. Dave Gilder (26 not out) and Chris Reardon safely played out the last six overs to secure the draw.
