With the cricket season at only the half way stage. and a cup final arranged for the 3rd week in July, because of the weather, we had to toss a coin with Widnes for a place in the final. Even if we had won the toss I would have felt that this was totally inappropriate. It meant that our under 15s, who had remained unbeatean in the MYC under 15s league all season went out on a lottery. If we had needed to toss a coin in September, no complaints, but in July, how stupid can it get? It caused a lot of disappointment for 11 young lads. Tom Law. |
